#TAIG JAILBREAK IOS 9.2.1 UPGRADE#
IPhone users that jailbreak their devices are currently in limbo, as Apple has stopped signing all but the latest version of iOS, meaning they're now unable to restore their devices or upgrade past iOS 9.0.2. You can see some of my favorite jailbreaking tweaks in my recent article - 5 Amazing iPhone Jailbreak Tweaks That Make iOS 9 Even Better Many jailbreaking features have been so good that they've found their way into new iOS versions - for example, the Control Centre was available years before it was introduced into iOS and much more useful and flexible versions are available in the jailbreaking app store Cydia. This can pose security risks, but also allow unlimited customization of iOS and the installation of apps that wouldn't pass Apple's verification process. Jailbreaking is the term given to the process of allowing third party software to be installed on an iOS device that hasn't been signed off by Apple. In fact, rather than having to wait a year for a new jailbreak tool, the next release, presumably for iOS 9.2, looks set to arrive barely 2 months after the previous release by the Pangu team on 13th October. But Luca was credited by Apple recently for pointing out a vulnerability in iOS 9.2, so it is highly possible that the hacker has succeeded in creating an iOS 9.2.1 jailbreak.The last 12 months have seen unprecedented jailbreaking activity compared to what we've seen in recent years as Chinese teams entered the fray. It is still being debated whether or not the hacker's claim is genuine.
The hacker is also known as Luca Todesco, and he has posted a screenshot of his iPhone 6 running Cydia on iOS 9.2.1 beta. iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5 and iPhone. There are both Windows and Mac versions of TaiG 8 jailbreak.
"iOS 9.2.1 while it was still in the beta phase, was already jailbroken by a popular iOS hacker. For now TaiG 9 can jailbreak iOS 7.0 to iOS 8.4 - which were previously thought immune to any jailbreaking attempt. Todesco was sent a lot of requests on Twitter to share the jailbreak release.
Meanwhile, it has also been rumored that an Italian named Luca Todesco has been able to jailbreak iOS 9.2.1, as he provided a screenshot of his iPhone 6 with Cydia running on iOS 9.2.1.
#TAIG JAILBREAK IOS 9.2.1 UPDATE#
The latest update made available to the public has been iOS 9.2.1 on January 19. The December update to iOS 9.2 delivered support for the Arabic language and USB Camera Adapter, allowing users to transfer photos from their iPhones to any iDevice without being forced to sync to a computer first.

IOS 9.0.2 was released on on Septemwith a fix for the lock screen bypass issue while iOS 9.1 was released on Octowith support for the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, plus the 4th generation Apple TV. iOS 9.0.1 was released on Septemand had a fix for the bug that caused the "Slide to Upgrade" screen to freeze when the users were updating from earlier iOS versions. It's almost impossible to think that the jailbreak community will let go of the system so easily.Īfter the release of iOS 9 in October, Apple has gone on to release five different important updates for their devices. With all the rumors and news surrounding the release of iOS 9.2, it's also been reported that Pangu's partner PP might have the tool and that the details are not yet released.
